Does anyone know where I can get some Aluminium tube 38mm internal 42 external. Only need about a metre. Can't find it anywhere.

Thanks

Ben.

if you've got access to a lathe...... scaffold tube sounds close to those sizes.

Acutally, i'm not sure, just tried googling and all i could find was marine scaffold with 48.4mm od and 4mm wall.

Ben - is it for cooling system? If so you could always use television arial extension tube. Some even has bends in it!

It's for making inlet an manifold to fit my gsxr t/b's. Have now had back plate machined and have got all the parts I need except this! Nearest I've found is 38/45 (I think). Could get this turned down but the smallest amount they'll do is 5m for £70. There has got to be some, some where!

Have you tried a metal supermarket, they sell a variety of metrial size/shape and tend to sell short lengths rather than long leghts to industry.

Scaffold tube is much bigger than you're after (48.4 OD x 4.47 wall).
There is a size ofextruded tube close to what you want, but I haven't a clue where you'd get some. It may be worth asking for though; 38.09OD x 3.25 wall - 6060 T595.
If all else fails, you could get some 2mm sheet rolled and weld it. I've done that on several occasions to get the right size of tube for diff covers.

Thanks for all your help. The guy who is welding it for me is now on the case. Think he will probably end up turning some down. Went and spoke to him yesterday, he is currently building a Dax Rush Hayabusa Turbo for a customer. His custom Alluminium work has to be seen to be believed.
