From my interpretation of the Liabel laws, you do not have to mention the persons name. If they can prove the accusation is false (not even by majority); that it was directed at them, so the use of simular sounding words and astericks; and that someone has been influenced then you can be sued.
There are exceptions to this. In Parliment there is a Gentlemans agreement, although not legally standing, and I believe a reviewer can say something as long it it was experienced first hand.

Please note, I am not in a legal profession. Please correct me if anyone has better info.

if you are warning people what they say on this forum I find it hard to believe you can be sued for posting an opinion on here .......for starters my computer is logged on to this forum in my office at work, used by a lot of people, some when i'm out of the room whos to say what posts may or may not have been posted with out me knowing .............. how do you prove whos posted what ????....... who has access to your computer ....... alleddddddgeeeeedly

still stand by what i said ..... its easy to threaten legal action but not that easy or cheap to take you to court or prove libel .......... if colmaccoll had been posting from home or in an office full of people or under a different name what could the company he upset have done ........ think i'd have said go on try legal action !!!!...... it is different when your jobs on the line but it helps if you own the company

Either way do you wanna take risks. It had got to the point some people were possibly going to get into trouble and all I was doing was saying, think before you post.
