Car transport
Ronin - 11/4/05 at 01:18 PM

I've got to get the Gemini I bought from LLandudno in North Wales down to Maidstone in Kent. I've had a few quotes off companies on ebay with car transporters ranging from £220 to £500! I've also looked into hiring a trailer but I don't know anyone with a towbar. Anybody got any other suggestions?

Cheers, Alex

I normally hire one of those beaver tail Ford Transit car transporters from Willhire last time I had one it was about £135 for the weekend.

Or if you've got a suitable towing car, you could hire a trailer with ramps.

I presume the cars not road worthy or you could drive a mate there and both drive back.

trailer hire is £20 at my local place in leeds, since its a kitcar its easy to tow weight wise.

you sure nobody has a towbar?! you could put a post on here asking for help, im sure somebody must have one and would want less that £100s...

Buy a Trailer off Ebay, transport the car and sell it again.

Same if you need a car. You could even break even or into a profit!.

Buy AA breakdown cover on it...
My dad got from Liverpool to Bristol in his younger years. Cheaper than petrol, and you can doze off to sleep.

I like his style.

Car hasn't been SVAd yet. Looks like I will have to hire trailer and van for the day.

Did that 4 years ago, my mate picked me up from brum in his pride and joy (v reg range rover) it got as far as redditch and the gearbox exploded. my RAC took us down to cardiff on the friday night - he joined the AA saturday and they took us home on the sunday. Low fuel bills for the trip!
