receipts

just read some one elses post regarding sva and dealing with vosa and dvla.

I have a question regarding firstly q plates and secondly receipts

What are the diss advantages of having a q plate, do you need to comply with most stringent emmisions?

why do you need to provide receipts for the parts. I don't have many, only chassis steel rest of the stuff was bought cash in hand or from ebay

I think its just to show that it isn't all stolen. I gave them loads of ebay receipts which were accepted without question.
I had no chassis or kit receipts but I had one for my engine and gearbox from the scrappy.

Cheers

You don't need any receipts in theory....unless you are going for a new reg number or want to have the car registered as a certain make ie. MK,GTS etc then they might want to see a receipt for the chassis from the maker.

"Q" plates are sometimes not liked as they indicate the car is a kit or import, which it is! the emissions test at MOT in most cases is the same as you can't have two sets of rules for the same car just because you have a different reg.

at mot time a q plate isnt tested, only visible smoke, apart from that i dont see it as a prob, cant see it when i,m driving anyway
