Just thought I'd share my project since I lurk most of the time here. Its going to be a drift day/track day car, hoping to make somewhere around
400+ hp.
McSorely +4" Plans,
S10 drive train, WC T5 Trans, 7.625" Rear end
S10 Spindle/Brakes
Lumina Z34 DOHC V6
Holset HX40 Turbo
4" Exhaust
Quick rendering I did, still need to figure a nice solution for side protection that doesn't lool ugly. The scoop on the side is for the
intercooler.
Here's some pics from early on in the build, Engine Mocked into Place
Shifter Extension on the trans,
I have some more pics of the chassis further along, but nothing to exciting, all the main bits are on accept the suspension.
speaking of suspension, heres a pic of one of my control arms...
That will certainly be a beast when its done.
Hi Rebel!
Sounds like a top class project - where abouts are you?
The fabrication/welding of you wishbne looks very impressive!
keep us posted with you progress

Sierra IRS rear with LSD diff with that amount of BHP??
Tks
cool project. That Z34 motor is a great little motor - light, tune-able, compact (except maybe a little tall). I've heard they were tuned back at the factory to help preserve the fwd automatic tranny.
The car is being built in the US, Pittsburgh to be exact. Thanks for the compliments on the welding, it was done by a buddy of mine who's doing
the bulk of the fabrication, who owns a chassis shop (domination chassis)
As far as the rear end, its from a S10 truck, they are used to taking lots of power from V8 swaps. It should be able to put up with the abuse for a
while, after I blow it up ( no if's I WILL blow it up) I'll swap out the guts with GM racing parts found in F bodies, etc. to better deal
with the power. For the Diff, I'm going to use a Torsen T2R which is used in the American Iron Series race cars, they are rebuildable and
tuneable.
The Z34 is a great lil engine, they're a mix of the Quad 4 Top end Design and the proven 60degree pushrod design which were used in circle track
cars and hydroplane boats for years.

bored at work, heres a couple other pics.
my ebay turbo I just picked up, its puppy size.
further along pic of the chassis.
The hx40 is a monster size turbo, just curious on the spool up rate of it with a 3.4. I would like to find a good deal on a hx35 for my 2.3 but am
also worried abit on the spool up on it- from what I hear its about 500 rpm higher up that the stock t3

With the stock internals of the engine as they are now I just hope to get things up and running .I'm not expecting it to spool up really quick,
and my wastegate is probally going to be working overtime. For now I just hope to be spooling up around 4500 rpm for a workable power range between
4500 and 8500 rpm.

shot of the passenger side, though both sides still need some tweaking....
