An american builder

Hello, experienced locost engineers. I am a member of the american military stationed on the east coast, and since I've some time and money to spare, I decided to try building a locost. Since it will take some time for the book to reach me, could you give me any advice you have, escpecially about modifying the frame designs I've found for the various donor cars? I have found a lot of information, but I'm hoping for enough info to get rolling for the 6-8 weeks it will take the book to arrive. I'm looking at building a pretty basic, no-frills verion, probably using an engine from whatever rear-ended vehicle I can pick up at a local auction. Thanks again for any info.

P.S. If there is a general time the chat room is really active, please let me know so I can get some answers real-time. You guys sound like you know what you're doing. Thank you very much.

Welcome

Try http://www.locostusa.com/forums/ and the North America Yahoo group for specific donor info. This is a great site for general Locost knowledge/questions/etc.
