1001 things to remember before you bolt it all up

A thread in "Engine" is about Type 9 rear oil seals, 2 mins to fit with the box on the bench, right little ba5tard when in place.

How many other bit and pieces exhibit the same ease vs difficulty ratio that we should all know about (before its too late)

How about - putting the wiring loom and petrol pipe down the transmission tunnel BEFORE panelling up!

I did it after panelling and fitting the transmission. I can report that it's possible, but a real bitch. Much knuckle skinning & much grief.

As a minimum, plan the route and drill the holes for the P-clips before panelling...

Any seal work on diff or back axle.

Any brake pipe works within confines of chassis.

Panel the tunnel before you put the battery shelf panel on. I didn't and you have to be a contortionist to get to the front footwells.

yours, Pete.

Or do as I did - put the whole thing together and then spot a split pin on the floor, the split pin that should be in the handbrake cotter pin.

B*ll*cks!!!!

Cheers
