It's possibly not called a nipple, which is why I'm struggling...
My fuel tank appears to have a M14 x 1.5 thread for the output, which I need to hook up to some 6mm ID pipe (carbs).
All I'm looking for is a "nipple" which is M14 x 1.5 and a suitable, 6mm, 1/4" on the other end.
Can I find one.....
Perhaps its my terminology which is making it difficult but I've looked for union, coupler, adaptor, adapter, nipple etc etc.
One of these, but with the threads as above.
Any ideas?

You sure its M14? Its more likely to be 1/4BSP (13mm OD, 1.3mm pitch) or 1/4NPT.

Well, the exact size has puzzled me for a while, read loads of threads on wscc but its just not clear.
My M12 x 1.5 droplinks from my Calibra fit the thread the whole way down, but are clearly a little loose (M12/M14)
Whatever connection happens to be on an airline connection, fits but only goes down 3-4 threads, so isn't quite right.
M12 x 1.75 tap goes in, but again not past 3-4 threads.
10.5 drill shank just fits into the hole.
I thought I'd find a sensor/sender somewhere in the garage which would be M14 to confirm it, but I can't find one.
If you all reckon its 1/4" BSP then I'll get one, least its a start.

The airline connection is probably bspt (taper) which is why it will get tighter after a few turns.

By the way, it'd be called a barbed hose fitting or just barbed fitting.

By the way - have you tried Think Automotive?? They are great for that sort of thing. They were the only place in the entire world that could supply
me with 7/16 banjo barb fittings for my wilwood master cylinders. Give em a call cos not everything is on their site.

Ideally wanted to find somewhere online tonight as work is just consuming whole days currently without the time to make a 2 min phonecall to sort out
the simplest of things
Then again, I need to visit the local fabricator tomorrow to sort out the welding of an outlet onto my bottom coolant pipe so they may have an M14 x
1.5 which I can check with. Failing that, they could actually turn one up on a lathe for me, which would be perfect.
If only I could get the fuel pipes sorted and coolant pipes I could fire up the engine!
