Pug406 questions

Need to change the front pads and disks on my pug 406 2.1TD 1998

I have no manual for the car and have not done Pug front pads since my old 205.

I have heard that some pugs need to have the piston wound back in. Does anyone know if i need a tool to wind the pistons back in or will it be the push in type still?

I am sure we have all been there ........working on the tin top at a weekend and needing it back together again for work on Monday morning! i just dont want to disassemble it all to find out i dont have the right tools to do the job!

Also i have a big barell of 15W/40 oil at work, is this oil ok for this engine?

Really should get a Haynes!
Cheers

if its a hdi then i think 15w40 prob a bit too thick... would need to check autodata to be sure. as for the brakes.. the front pistons will just push back.. nothing special about them.. should be easy

not sure on the pistons, likewise haven't worked on a Pug since my 205 GTis (happy days )

I would check the oil spec for the engine rather than chucking it straight in, I think the HDI engine is quite specific on oil.

its not an HDI its onle of the later forerunners to the HDI.

Mines a 2.1 TD, then they dropped the size to 2.0 HDI.
