She's alive and rolling!
Jasper - 30/4/03 at 02:54 PM

Totally chuffed - got her fired up this morning, roared into life first press of the button after sorting out one sodding wire that was wrong.

This afternoon went for a short drive up and down the car park area, got her into second (just), and now have a huge smile on my face.

Just got to sort out the hazards and indicators and the wiring is finished.

Thanks everybody who has helped, it's quite an unreal feeling driving her up the road.

well done jasper, how much longer until its finshed?

What was wrong with the engine in the end?

ChrisW - 1/5/03 at 07:15 AM

Which wire was it in the end? Nice one for finding it anyway - I certainly couldn't!

Chris

Cheers chaps.

On somebody elses recommendation I bypassed all the kill switched by earthing the green/black wire into the fusebox, also replaced the 100ohm resistor as well. Fired first time.

As for how long till finished, 6-8 weeks would be a good estimate.

Well done mate!

I knew it was that wire all along- Bill told me whilst I was out walking with him. I thought none of you were listening to him!

Cheers,

James

Sounds like me and Jasper are twins made from the same egg (apart from his gay taste in bread!). Pretty much the same thing as mine really. I just have a few things to do before I'm totally happy but they aren't keeping me off the road, only the weather's doing that. Wait till you hit 11500rpm in 6th then you'll smile
p.s. still miss the x-flow

Jasper - 1/5/03 at 07:03 PM

Twins.......eggs......scary thoughts indeed!!

Made a list of things I have to do (and re-do!) and it's getting very long ..... and i keep wasting time firing her up and just sitting there giving her a few gentle revs..

PTM - you gonna be driving in the TG to Stoneliegh monday?

chrisg - 1/5/03 at 08:24 PM

No ,

Mrs Locodude's put her foot down and made him go on holiday.

crack that pussy whip

Cheers

Chris

Has he got one foot in the Algarve or what. I think he's gone to see Joao Martinez and try to sell him a plastic tank..

yours, Pete.

Mr Gibbs you know different. If I was going to Stoneleigh I would be camping for 2 days, not bumming a lift and going just for the day to appease her indoors.
Anyhoo, the weather looks better where I'm going.

You're camp most days, ducky!

Have a nice holiday
