Anyone used Redline Tuning?
James - 24/10/06 at 03:47 PM

I want to get my 32/36 carb setup properly.

Was wondering if anyone had used these guys?

Redline Tuning, they're in Iver, Bucks just near Heathrow.

Bloke seemed nice on the phone and appeared to know what he was talking about (unlike some other rolling roads I've phoned) but just wanted to know if others have had success there.

For a start it'd be nice to get better than 16mpg!

Cheers,
James

Excellent Got a mental picture of a load of midgets dressed like jockeys kept in traps like greyhounds then all struggling to clear a fence like at the horses. Great

He did a mkII escort for me, it had a Vulcan 1700 x/flow and had only been run in for about 500miles so he wouldn't do a top end test and reading, It pee'd me off a bit until I realised what he was protecting the engine from, D'oh,
Oh to be 17 again

I was very unimpressed. Didn't have a clue about Emerald software and did little to get any improvements using timing ...I think you could get better. Perhaps he is better at older style setups with carbs/dizzy.

Maybe right there as mine was dizzy and twin 40's, he had all the jets needed to re jet them for me straight from the drawer

James, you should be lucky there then as your dizzy and webber aren't you ??

James,

Not sure if this will help, but when I first started my build, I bought a webber carb of a rolling road company in Dorking. They were recommended to me by someone lost in the mists of time. Instead of replacing jets, they soldered and re-drilled. They seemed to know what they were talking about. Problem is, I can't remember the name! They were quite close to Wickes.

Regards, Ian.
