Turner Auto Design

Hi Guys,

Don't know if anyone else has said yet but it looks like Turner Automotive Design has ceased trading

http://www.turner-auto-design.com/

I tried to order some wheels from him a couple of weeks ago but he would not take my order (some people would have taken the money and ran!)

Steve comes on here from time to time (Tadltd) so I just wanted to wish him all the best for whatever he's going to do in the future.

Andy

Maybe see him again with the project mentioned in THIS thread.

I would also like to wish Steve every success with his next venture whatever that might be. I was gutted to hear of the bad news.

This just goes to show how tough it is to get established in this industry and should be a reality check to any of us who have given serious thought into starting a similar business. Steve is a really nice guy and clearly knows his stuff having brought the LMP as far as he did but for some reason it was not to be I guess.

Oh well, onwards and upwards, I have no doubt we will see him again!

Cheers,
Craig.

its a very hard market for the more expensive vehicles competing with radicals etc

good luck to steve anyway, he always comes across well on here.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, guys. It's always inspiring coming on here and this just proves what an excellent community this is.

The other project (in the thread linked above) will be on-going for the next 12 months. I've already secured some bits and pieces for it and will continue to evolve it into something resembling the GT car. As one door shuts, etc...

With regards to the future, I've accepted a part-time lecturing position at Bell College in Hamilton, near Glasgow (I actually graduated from there in 1998!). I'll be lecturing on - wait for it - automotive design... Hopefully it'll turn into something more permanent! I'll also be overseeing the Formula Student team, so you may still see me around the tracks.

I'm already eyeing up a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches, a pair of brown cord's, a pipe, brogues, a beige nylon shirt, and some extreme facial hair!

(Note to ChrisW: you can remove the statement below my postings now...)

Hi All,

Like you all, I wish Steve all the best for the future.

And also I'd like to wish all the best for the future of the fantastic Turner LMP. I was much in love with that car and its distinctive looks. I was expecting it to get a cabin, which Steve had plans (and sketches) for. I hope the design goes to some company in a position better to continue with a project that was already a successful car on the track, as seen on reviews. We all have seen several designs change hands.. Sylva for instance designs a car, manufacture it for a while, then sell the design (Fisher Fury, Raw Striker and so on). MK Engineering did that, just like many others.

I look forward to any news that the project is resumed, even if that's at the price of not having Steve at it.

Cheers,

Alex
