LOLOST INTO A SPRINTER?
kartman24 - 28/12/06 at 07:36 PM

I`m picking a Locost up next Wednesday and either need to hire a trailer and tow vehicle or try to fit it into a sprinter van, the car is 95% finnished with all 4 wheels engine in etc. Anyone on here got any idea if it will fit in the van??????????......Martin

a bare chassis is an easy fit into a MWB sprinter, depending on your track width you may struggle if you dont take the wishbones off. What engine is it (weight wise)?

If it's got n fluids in it, it may fit if put in on the pi$$, ie diagonally.

i had a lwb sprinter and it was narrower between the wheel arches than my transit

Personally I'd go for a trailer. Even if it would fit into a sprinter (which I doubt very much), you'd have a hell of a job getting it in there without lots of manpower. If you give details of where you live and where the car needs picking up from, maybe someone on here might be willing to help out.

Be easier hiring a beaver tail, no lifting, no reversing trailers, just pull up and drag it on.

Ill go with hellfire. Much easier on a trailer. Especially if its got wheels on. Roll on roll off.

I`ve been looking into hiring a trailer but i also need to hire a tow vehicle, anyone know of a firm in or near Northampton? Like wise for hiring a beavertail........Martin

Why not get something bigger than a Sprinter? When I initially organised a van for my house move I started with a Sprinter... Trouble was, I kept on worrying it would be too small and asking for an upgrade. Ended up with a mahusive Luton van. Fuel economy was shite and it was mightily different to driving the daily drive Micra but I'd be surprised if a chassis didn't fit in it....

What about hiring a car transporter ? not the artic type obviously Willhire used to rent them out , maybe opthers as well ? Easier and safer than trying to fit it in a van not designed for the purpose , eliminates the need for hiring a trailer and tow car
