Anybody bought these? What do we think in terms of VFM? Does the Zinc coating do a decent job of stopping rust?
Ebay Linky
Ta
tim dont know how good they are cant imagine any being that bad
one thing is for sure zinc coated discs where the zinc is still visible after about a month look powdery they dont rust
For that price they are worth looking into. My brand new discs are looking decidely second hand after 2 years of building and the idea of still having
shiny discs when you eventually hit the road is nice
Cheaper than the Suburu jobbies at £500

the disks are good as it is my frend who does them. i have a full set on my civic type r and it stops very well. he will do disks for eny car hope this helps chaps cheers paul
Working with automotive brakes guys I personally wouldn't bother with anything other than plain discs. (although my rear discs are drilled and grooved - but they came with the part built kit i bought)
Chris, doesn't the plating just prevent rust for a while or does it affect cooling in some way? I had to resort to painting them (apart from the pad area of course) which will never look as good as plating or be as thermally efficient. Obviously the pad area will just get rubbed off straight away but surely the rest should still look good for a few k miles?
Yeah - what Raz said!
I had to paint my last set of discs as they looked sh1te against the otherwise shiny car.
Must ask Moorron if the paint stayed on ok - only Hamerite.
Sorry was talking about the grooves not the plating. Don't know anything about that - If i remember when I get back to work I'll ask.
my post said what the plating does
doesnt rust but goes powdery looking after couple of months
