Cost ideas

Hi all,

Im new here and thoguht i'd start with a question like most do

What would I expect to pay for a rolling shell, doesnt have to have much on it but I'd prefer a rolling one.

I have a 1600Xflow in my garage gompleet with everything, I have a double garage and some time on my hands and would like to build one up but not make the frame, I can weld well so I could strengthen but wouldnt want to start from scratch.

I love old cars usually, im in to mk1 and mk2 escorts heres a pic of one of my ols cars that I built.

Cheers, Yodi

Ok while I'm at it, here is my old track car too.

So back to rolling Locost Shells

How much would I be expected to pay?

I would not be worried about building tha chassis, it should not take too ling if you are organiised and read through the old posts on the forum, i did mine in about 40 hours not listening to everything I read! the trick is careful cutting of the tubes and if you use the McSorely plans they are 100% correct, if they don't fit you have done something wrong, quite a few of mine did not fit!

It is great to be able to say you built the whole thing

That Gulf MK1 is S T U N N I N G!

To get you started, I'd look:

Here (MK)

Here (Ace)

Here (CCT)

Here (STM)

You've also got Luego, Tiger and possibly MNR (they've suggested that they may be doing something with the Locost.) Oooo and don't forget Procomp - racing specialists.

The choice is yours...

Is the CCT kit any good? Also is it worth spending teh extra and buying the frame with the suspension parts or courcing them myself, I have trade accounts with all my local motor factors??

Also I have a mk1 XR2 for spares, worth using anythibg from it?

Thanks again

Ok, It'll cost you more some of the other options, but as you already have some of the parts, have a look at this:
Says Mark 2 XR2 - not sure if it matters?
