is similar to the 7 but it look to be a more comfortable size
why do people not build 7's wit the floor pan comeing out past the inside line of the rear wheel, its a good way to get an extra foot
Most people build kits and just assemble what they've got.
Most people who build chassies build from plans that someone else has drawn up and so just build what they've got.
It would be more difficult to design a chassis that fills in the gap between the wheels that would be as rigid but no heavier.
A sierra based seven could be wider because the sierra axle is wider than the escort. Few people make use of the extra width
I guess you could make side pods of some sort with a wider scuttle and bonnet. It would keep your left elbow out of the draught a bit more.
one day I might even tell you of my side pod experiment...

well i might give it a go because i need about 10" more at the front of my transmission tunnel and it would be nice to have a car thats not a
smug fit also im thinking about a roof
what were the results of your experiment like?
The aero8 cockpit is not actually that big....The floorpan might be wider, but that "extra" area is taken up by the exhaust silencers and the swept wings...the cockpit is only fractionally wider than my 2b...Ok..there is a bit more legroom because the chassis is square not tapered at the front.....Nice looking car, shame they are put together so badly!
was looken at some pics of it this morning and i noticed the fact the passenger compartment covered the rear wheels abit and made me think theres a good way to get an extra bit of space, i also like the more aerodynamic shape but i think its a bit ambitious to achieve that
I did some work for Morgan a few years ago just after they started producing the aero8 and its a very impressive car in design.
The monocock tub chassis was beautifully produced, as are the aluminium wings which I belive are semi cast or something which is why they are able to
make such a beautiful shape with a single piece of material....
I know they have changed the layout of the cockpit for the US market slightly to make some more room....Its still not a tall mans car!
