That should polish out.

Though it looks like the headlights have been ejected.

They could have at least put slinkies on the back of the lamps so they looked like the goggle eye things when they popped out.

Doesn't seem to have done an awful lot of damage though - must be a fairly strong old crate.....

iank - 2/3/07 at 11:28 AM

Looks low speed from the lack of damage to both the car and pole.

I'd hope the sheet is because the screen is cracked, but if he wasn't wearing a seatbelt it might have been nasty.

worX - 2/3/07 at 11:30 AM

From the skid marks, I'd guess that he was travelling at some speed initially, but managed to scrub most of it off though!

either way, as myself and a mate would say: Bit of T-Cut....

Cheers,
Steve.

Yes, but the passenger cabin isn't compromised at all. Doesn't look like he came through the windscreen.

Any more information tks?

tks - 2/3/07 at 12:20 PM

i guess

that he had a white top sheet..

mhh its name is all weather gear??

and that its broken off or something or that he managed to get out that way..

the true is i grabbed the pic out of a news site but there wasn't a article about the pic.

I'm sure he came out alive you cant be dead with that speed i guess... also you see that they putted the lights near the pole..

tks - 2/3/07 at 12:34 PM

that pole model is huge one..

i guess it hass 300mm of diameter
the wall thickness will be between 4 / 6mm

greggors84 - 2/3/07 at 12:59 PM

Maybe he drove through someones washing line, got their bed sheet caught around his windscreen and then crashed into the pole?

Howlor - 2/3/07 at 01:08 PM

If you look the bedsheet says V8 on it so possibly a monogrammed corpse covering blanket from the Cobra owners club?

Phil.J - 2/3/07 at 03:33 PM

Looking at the lack of substantial damage I'd say that wasn't much more than a tap. The driver would be very unlucky to be hurt by that (other than in the wallet)!

tks - 2/3/07 at 04:03 PM

in fact we need the pics of the man with the cam....

most damage i see is the hands/arms/wrists/chest.. at any impact speed..

MikeRJ - 2/3/07 at 04:04 PM

The white sheet looks like one of those tailored dust covers to keep your car clean when it's kept in a garage.

However, seems to be a lot of fuss going on, police in the background, guy taking pictures etc. which is surprising if no-one was hurt. I suppose he might have bounced of another car or two on his way to the pole.

Maybe Dutch regulations about accidents are tougher than over here?

tks - 2/3/07 at 04:37 PM

the guy who takes the pics isn't a police man.

also is the man who took this pic.
the pic was taken from a public news site where you can send your own newspics to them.

so one brain in the world/(netherlands) thought lets send this pic.

the guy who takes the pic is from a newspaper(local) (almost sure).

for me it looks like a speed problem of a guy not nowing where it drives (as you see the situ is like two corners wich generate a X point.. sow i you want to go from one side to the other but there is a car driveing and you try to correct you can end up eating the pole..

another poss is a accelerator sticking or a steeringwheel failure..

anyway i guess the guy is hurt because else he was on the pic i imagine....

he certainly isn't dead because else the traffic would be suspended for a time
(can see on the pic if the police is doing that)

i gues to take him out they needed to remove the white winter gear, holland at moment isn't for cabrio driveing..

to tell / think more we need the pic of the guy making the pic in this pic

Tks

Yep, costs a fortune to get a lamp post repainted

Simon - 2/3/07 at 09:09 PM

I suspect if he hadn't been wearing a belt, and butted the screen, the screen would have moved!

caber - 2/3/07 at 10:27 PM

I suppose he could have cracked his skull on the roll over bar from the whiplash after the impact

Forgot to mention, if he wasn't wearing a belt, I have absolutely no sympathies for injuries sustained as a result!
