Seen it

Bought it

Read it

Catpuss - 3/3/07 at 07:04 PM

I have, although it seems that Amazon don't have it.

The haynes web site new books are alarming. One is the Haynes book of dogs. I can imagine the pictures of the strip down and overhaul being particularly grusome

Confused but excited. - 3/3/07 at 07:13 PM

Mine just changed to that within the last half hour, but strangely still says estimated delivery time March 30th to April 16th - guess that means a delivery on foot from Haynes via Amazons warehouse

asn163 - 3/3/07 at 09:38 PM

I have, from Amazon.

Simon

Chippy - 3/3/07 at 11:39 PM

Me to, from Amazon, (still f*****g waiting, grrrrrrrrr!) Ray

Christ! I ordered on the 27th Jan, just checked my order, Delivery estimated as 27th Mar to 12th April, they have got to be joking. Anybody know where I can get one of the peg, so to speak.

Just tried to cancel, only to be told cannot as being got ready for shipping, thats bloody three weeks in the future, last time I order from these toss pots.

andyps - 5/3/07 at 09:09 PM

Mine has been despatched by Amazon today - apparently it will be delivered anytime between today and April 16th! Bet Amazon are pissed off as the other things I ordered with it to get free delivery were sent last week due to the delay in the book!

Alan B - 5/3/07 at 09:20 PM

Ordered from Amazon.....not sure why really...I don't need it....maybe feel sorry for Chris...

Yipeeeeee! mine came today, after all that faff about not till the 27/3 to 12/4. Ray

Message to Chris, already found two minor errors, BUT, very well done mate. Puts the old book to shame.

Simon W - 8/3/07 at 03:52 PM

I think there are errors in just about all technical books, would be useful to mention the actual errors in this thread so everyone is aware?

chrisg - 8/3/07 at 04:21 PM

Yep - here they are:-

On page 57 figure 5.4 The support frame for the front lower wishbone plate doesn't have the vertical height dimensions.

The lower end should be 10mm high and the upper end 18.5mm

On page 62 Figure 5.11 shows an angle of 78 degrees - this is incorrect it should be 82 degrees as shown in figure 5.12.

Don't be shy if you find anything.

I'll keep on top of this on the new Haynes forum when it's up and running.

In the meantime accept my appologies.

Cheers

Chris

Mine arrived today. Haven't had a look at it yet though.

chrisg - 8/3/07 at 07:42 PM

You're right of course, it's an assumed angle, 98 from 180

cheers

Chris

Mark Allanson - 9/3/07 at 09:36 PM

,,,,,,,,,,,,

chrisg - 9/3/07 at 09:46 PM

Only so many ways to skin a cat mate!

(Especially the same cat)

Actually the sumps not really the same is it and My PINTO mounts aren't like yours at all.

Cheers

Chris

Mark Allanson - 10/3/07 at 08:56 AM

Yah, but mine's bigger

chrisg - 10/3/07 at 11:33 AM

Rudy - 18/3/07 at 06:58 AM

Got it yesterday
It seems to me a good book

Macbeast - 18/3/07 at 07:39 AM

Bought book in motor bookshop in central London. Nicely presented, good value. Impressed by cutting details in Appendix 1 and sump modification looks nice.

I personally would have liked to see much more on electrics and Calvinx's very clear diagrams of lights positions would have been useful addition to Legal / SVA Chapter 12. But there again, I know where to find them and I guess you can only include so much.

P25, Fig 2.24 - I think they are called "Lazy Tongs "

Well done Chris - great book.
