where in a scrapyard would I find a 12v solenoid valve?
I can buy them new but at £45 each, I'd rather find one in a scrappy!!
I want something that is OK for oil up to about 40psi.
try an agricultural breakers lots of hydraulic / pneumatic hard ware to choose from
a car with an LPG conversion will have several. Have you tried sourcing them from a supplier ? Or finding an old LPG powered forklift truck ?
Washing machine?
What voltage to the solenoids operate in them?
Get the hot water one - bound to work!

i think its was an omega it had one on top of the engine i dont no what it was for. but it looks like a nitrous solenoid. i used one for a co2 it
only held about 30-40psi but i dont no what the flow would be like for oil

Scrappies and look for a luton van or such like with a tail lift. Almost all lifts have a solenoid valve on the ram which is energised to allow lowering of the platform.
