I'm soooo chuffed
Just got the chassis back from the powdercoating place and spent the week painting my engine. Got the front wishbones done at the same time, would
have got the trailing arms done but we'd already painted them.
I took my 'Laser' wheels for them to be blasted and powdercoated in silver (although I could have chosen any colour), should have them back
on Friday Might give them a call and see if I can rush them a little
Need to give the rear axle another coat of paint then I'll sort the rear end out.
Oh and please check out my -website-
don't know how to tell u this but your rear susspension geometry looks well out a line to me, think they should be upright............???
looks good btw.
Hey dont knock it. It worked for chitty chitty bang bang.
I think he's been getting ideas from Back To The Future....
So I'm just to tight to get 2 more axle stands but the wheels should be ready by Friday anyway.
I understand totally.
I have 2 decent axle stands...
I have two others, but I wouldn't want them on a photo of the chassis...
Saying that, we're so behind with the project we don't have a chassis to take photos of....
Threadjack:::::
Anyone fancy helping in the final stages of ripping the Beemer to bits gimme a shout....
Looks really smart...
but how did you get it out of the shed?
D
Getting it out of the shed is the easy part, putting it back in takes a while
Where did you get the powder coating done and how much did it cost?
Useful info for the future hopefully
After a bit of Googling and Yell'ing I found a place named 'Peateys' in Yeadon near Leeds.
I rang the place and asked what price for blasting and powdercoating for the chassis alone and was told it would be £180 + VAT which I agreed to.
The following Monday I took it to the place with the front wishbones and they said they'd do it for £200 cash and to pick it up on Friday.
So bottom line is:-
£200 cash

Actually at that time the thing had handbrake on and was in gear....
Paranoia made me put the angled sleepers under the wheels....
The front end is now standing up on two hefty axle stands.
And feel free to help me Jimbo, I've sent you a U2U...
