Hi.
I have a problem with the brakes on my Velocity; can anyone give me some advice please?
The system is floor mounted pedals; bias bar, two master cylinders (one feeding the front brakes and one the rear) Disc’s are fitted to both the front and rear. New master cylinders, callipers, discs and pads were used.

The car has been on the road for about eight months and the brakes have been working fine up until recently.

I’ve had a couple of occasions when the rear brake are getting stuck on. I’ve managed to trace it to the fact that when the pedal is pushed really hard (Emergency stop) the rears stay on.
Would this be a faulty master cylinder or something else?

Yes it could be but first check the hanbrake cable isn't over tensioned.

What sort of flexi are you using? I have had this happen with old rubber flexi they start to break up inside and flaps form that act like a one way valve. I fall is new it is more likely you are pushing the M/C rod too far into the cylinderand closing up the return port somehow, either that or the M/c is faulty I have also had this with a brand new lucas/girling branded M/c apparently it was a faulty batch, so much for name brand parts being better!

did the bias bar adjustment went crap???

Make sure that your bias bar is not getting jammed on.

The first thing I tried was to slacken off the handbrake.
The flexi pipes are new braided ones.
Bias bar seems ok

are the pistons in the calipers free of are they sticking on

The pistons in the calipers are free.

Piddy try cracking of the bleed nipples a touch when the brakes are sticking, if that releases the brakes then I would check the brake bias bar. If that is OK then its probably master cylinder.

i agree with nitram, make sure your bias bar is not jamming, im using the same pedal box as you and when i bought it i noticed that the bias bar would jam up when wiggled on an angle.
i thought that this would cause a problem when i eventually get the car car on the road, so had the brake pedal hole (where the bias bar goes through) reamed out a little as the welding had caused a bit of a rough surface, it now move freely and smoothly.
may not be you problem but just thought i would let you know as its the same type pedal box.
