Steam pipe

The Burlington plans refer to "steam pipe" and we don't have anything by that name here in the New World.

Is there another name by which it could be known? Can it be described in other terms? Thin wall or thick? Copper, steel, iron, . . . ?

Thanks in advance,

carcentric, steam pipe is the same as your schedule 40 pipe, which is a rolled and welded product. I hope Burlington aren't advocating building a car from it!

Not for a frame, it was suggested for extending the steering shaft (as a collar to be welded over the cut).
