looking for plans ideas to construct a tent-like garage to keep my LSIS under.

plan is to use a sheet of tarpaulin, cut and stiched into shape and draped over small wodden frame that is put around the car.

The roll bar will act as support and the main purpos of the frame is to keep the tarp off the mirrors and bonnet - idally cover the whole car would be nice.

Frame to be easily demoountable.

So anything like that out there?

How about designing a Locost version of this?

A version of the cycle dome at the bottom of that web page would be perfect.

Or, even easier, how about a cheap gazebo to fit over the car?

Didnt that guy who did the prog "Take my mother in law" have a low shed type thing for his car. Just tall enough to push the car in but with lockable front door. It was quite a good idea for secure storage. Would be cheap to make if you do a frame in CLS and then clad with sterling board followed with suitable waterproofing agent.

it has to be temporary tent like shelter; the car normally sits in the garage but behind 2 other cars so gets to come out when it is nice weather - like what we've had and are having.

the bike foldable tent thing would be ok buyt looking at somethng even simpler - I can tie the tarp with bungee cords to the front wishbones but weant to keep it iff the bonnet and the mirrors - the tension in the tarp moves the mirrors.

current thinking is some hoop fitted inside the car and maybe one near to tfront to keep the tarp off....

don't make it go down to the floor - that way wind can whip under the cover / car - stops it getting damp and then staying that way. On the down side it does mean things won't be dry when the atmosphere is damp (rust).

Use some scaffold poles and decent canvas tarpaulin.

poly tarps are cheap but only last a short while, and will wear where they rub.

£73 and you've got somewhere to sleep too!

Obviously you'd need to have a measure to make sure the car fits in it, but you get the idea. Even if the car doesn't fit, you could always use the poles, fittings etc.
