Hello

while I cant be bothered entering into the petty (but not unsurprising) "locostbuilders" clique gang-up session, (most are beyond help, and not worth saving even from themselves anyway!!!) But everyone no matter what their allegiance is, be it kit car, roller skate, chaterham etc etc......

Surely everyone IS entitled to their OWN opinion no matter how distasteful that view is to another party, The whole point of a "forum" is to allow everyone an outlet/medium in which freedom of speech/typed/discussion of the merits/de-merits of a topic is actively encouraged.

zxrlocost - 13/11/07 at 08:53 AM

has anyone actually met him?

Peteff - 13/11/07 at 09:44 AM

The link is in the first post smiley Joel.

Such is the nature of our beloved hobby, there will never be a right and wrong answer to that posted by the originator.

Same discussion could be had on a forum dedicated to people who buy 2nd hand F1 cars - only the budgets and spends would be a little higher.

Do people buy Ferraris cos they are the best car in the world? No, they buy them cos they love them. Same can be said for all of the se7ens out there. Too many variables and too many choices for everyone to be correct. Its obvious / natural that some people will get emotive over there final choice of car. Its just a shame that some others cant accept this. Ive said it before and will say it again - until some scientific unbiassed company takes hold of all of the variables and publishes a detailed lab condition report then no-one will be able to say what is the best car for them, and that is never going to happen. i think its high time that people accept that in a 5K to 30K budget all of the cars are damned good. If you want the benefit of a muli million development budget then you go to the showrooms and buy a mass produed car.

Confused but excited. - 13/11/07 at 11:01 AM

OOoooo, at last, I'm in a clique!

Go Loco! Go loco! Go Loco!

The guy drives me nuts (as you can probably tell). I should just ignore him but it really annoys me when people go away with a biased opinion on something like this.

No I've never met him and really don't want to. I can't understand for the life of me why he carries on like this.

Regards,

Mark

JoelP - 13/11/07 at 02:15 PM

Steve has it in a nutshell!

I myself seem to end up argueing when i should know better, however sometime it cant be helped!

Alan, he would be on my crimbo card list, but ive run out of the ones that go BANG

(ps secret police, im joking...)

I seem to remember having read similar thoughts from Chairman Sam on various occasions. I like the Dual Ecosse's statement that Locost builders are not worth saving even from themselves and from reading his post further I recognise the style, very reminiscent of a certain ex-member who is now abroad.

Go on then, I bet it's CalvinX.

Confused but excited. - 13/11/07 at 04:12 PM

I doubt it.
For all the flaming, Mark had a lot of positive input as well.

Ooo, I've come over all nostalgic.

I don't get it then. If he was joking with his posts at me then why did he complain to the PH moderators... someone did as meeja posted his piece.

Peteff - 13/11/07 at 04:34 PM

You sir have made the INCORRECT assumption based on nothing more than supposition and certainly not fact, that.

That is word for word what he wrote in a reply to something I posted in a reply to one of his posts on here. It's one hell of a coincidence if it's not him.

I've just looked in the members list and it is him, unless there are two Mark Duncans. Now that would be weird

Syd Bridge - 13/11/07 at 05:56 PM

I get into enough strife here!

Pistonheads, ........you gotta be joking.

The only other forum I frequent is one dealing with diy cnc machines.

Cheers,
Syd.

JoelP - 13/11/07 at 06:02 PM
