Last night I met a man!
And I don't mean in the King's Cross, £10 a go type- for once.
Anyway, this bloke offered me a brace of Weber 40's that are setup for a Fiat Twin Cam but he wanted £150 for them.
Would I be right in thinking this is a bit steep, especially as I'd need a Pinto manifold to go with them? I've certainly seen 'em on e-bay for about
this much.
Thing is, he said for £200 he'd chuck in the Twin Cam aswell!
I don't believe it had a gearbox but presumably it wouldn't be too hard to get an adaptor plate for a type 9?
There's no history or anything and I don't know the mileage- he said the engine's out of a Talbot Sunbeam.
So, opinions please- is this a reasonable deal (with or without the engine) or am I asking to be ripped off. He seemed a genuine guy (for what that's
worth) and I know where he lives so he can't run away that easily!
Also, how can I tell which capacity engine it is.
Thanks- any info' gratefully received
James
Sounds like its been rally,d,i would therefore using my powers of deduction assume there is a high probability of it being nackered
Leave it alone, get yourself a known-history pinto. You'ld be surprised how much power you can get with a decent cam and a 38DGAS (ex 3ltr
v6)twin-choke downdraught.

Does that mean that my DGAV carb is a crappy choice?
