Welcome to the mad house
You got all that done in one day!!! It took me weeks to get to that stage
Welcome, David. Looks like you've made a good start. Hopefully you'll benefit from and contribute to this forum over the course of your
build
Cheers
Simon

Welcome - great start and first post. It's well worth it when you get it on the road...
Good to see people still building from scratch.
Hi Guys
Thanks for the welcome.
I just went away to edit the size of my pic and got replies.
The last forum I went on took days to get a reply.
I certainly find this forum a great sorce of insperation.
cheers David
You will find this site invaluable, what a wealth of knowledge these guys have or is it sometimes bull s@*t. Whatever welcome to the site and good
luck with the project.
Barry
First of all, welcome to the forum.
Secondly, have you considered fitting a bike engine.
Thirdly...... are you going to SVA and register it in England?
Phil
Hi Phil
Yes I am going to SVA it and get it registered in UK.
Getting a selfbuilt car registered in France would be a nightmare.
Which is a real shame coz there is NO road tax here and mot is only every 2 years,
and yes I did consider a BEC being an exbiker the idea apealed to me,
but decided against it for this build, maby the next one.

Hello David and welcome
I see a copy of the haynes roadster book in your chassis pic, i am presuming you have the ammendments from there forum.
If not
linky
Hi,
Not to threadjack or anything, but I have a lot of friends in Belgium, Lux and France.
Will any country in the EU let an SVA'd vehicle in for licensing? I ask because I was told by a Cateringvan dealer in Luxembourg lately that
"kit cars are finished in the EU - they no longer exist". I know they usually take an SVA as a prerequisite to registration in Holland, but
is it with all the EU?
I will rub in at this point, how relatively easy it is to register in Canada - basically provincial MOT and that's it (sometimes they ask for an
engineer's certificate but they set that up for you if you don't do it yourself). Insurance is a bit dodgier though from what I'm told
- they don't know what you're talking about basically.
Hi Bob
Thanks for the link.
No I didn't know about the ammendments
Whew! just in time before I did any more cutting to
Hi RK
I don't know about the rest of the EU but I do know that in France it would be almost imposible to get a homebuilt registered here.
We have the DRIRE which looks after the single vehicle registration, a bit like our SVA.
But it would almost certainly fail at the first step because of the chassis not being EU Homolagated.
If you did get it through it would be very expensive and probably not cost effective.
