How many Sevens
paulmw - 27/6/08 at 08:29 PM

Just wondering how many MK's, MAC1's, MNR's etc have been sold

I used to be members of other cars clubs and people would pride themselves on the build number of their car. So how many and is it possible to have a build number?

Well over 2000 MK's, probably getting on for 3000 i guess.

It'd be a good idea, because then you'd have a chassis number right from the start (assuming it'd be unique enough to be sure not to be replicated by someone else)

If theres 2/3000 MK's there must be soo many in total.
- From the start of time, the number of seven and seven replica must be stupidly high!!

bear in mind there will be a fair few wrapped around lamp posts , trees, folded up against tyre barriers etc. I must admit there are quite a few that are out over the summer.

it will depend how much time they took to sell them and how much costs they have selling/making them...

anyway it sounds allot..

If that was over a period of say 5 years, then that would be £500K a year. That's not such a big deal anymore. Say £10,000 a week. How many employees? Let's say 3, plus the owner. Then the rent, rates and electricity (all those machines and mig welders) insurances, cost of the components and the steel.

Sounds about right to me, an OK business but not a huge money spinner.

my MNR is number 40 bought 2006. if that helps

I think the number of MK's sold would be only around 1000 to 1500,MK have been operating around 10 years, during this time, they have built on average 2 kits a week, the odd week they may do 3 kits if they are very busy,so that would put the total number some where between 1000 and 1500.

2 - 3000 MKs!!!!!! WOW. 1 a day over 10 years or they have been going 20 odd years at 3 a week.

If they have done that many 40 odd at a show is a bad turn out.

I dont think most manufacturers will have clear records. The industry doesnt seem to be that focussed on lot control.
