Not much point to this post I'm afraid.
Looks like I will be able to fit the valve covers under the bonnet. I guess there is no chance of this car being subtle anymore though .
Have a solid days work then the chassis is off to the welder for the bulk of the welding. Then it will be a rolling chassis (and technically a
car..... yay!)
Will a periscope pass SVA?
Do they have therapists in Canada I think you need help
Will be so when its finished
Cheers

Thats going to be awesome i like it!
you can make it look like a veyron, have the supercharger come out of the bonnet... that would look great...
Man, I thought my Nissan CA18DET was big!
my ca18et is tiny
Looks really . What is the HP? Boy are you going to have fun with traction - I think you can do away with the gearbox (save a chunk of weight)
and just have a clutch or torque converter.
Only thing - I would have used 38X25 or 50X25 for the lower rails in the engine compartment - but maybe you've done some additional triangulation
that I can't see from the photo
are you going to have one of those drag style intakes, with the 3 red butterflys on top, sticking out the bonnet?! that would be awesome!

You mean like this?
You could raise the side rails by 12" all round so a normal bonnet would fit... only thing is, you would then need a bar stool to sit on to see over the top
Thanks guys.
No SVA here in Canada so I should be fine that way. The therapists have tried, they gave up years ago.
The engine isn't as big as it looks in the picture. I'm hoping to have only about 1/2 the blower sticking out of the hood. The throttle
body is on the rear so no big hood scoops .
The power level really isnt that high. In stock form they make 240bhp with a healthy 280ft/lbs. Once I am used to the car, I will probably bump up
the boost and cam it. Most guys get about 300bhp and 300ft/lbs. Most guys with these engines have heavy cars and want torque. Not sure what happens
when you build for power instead. Will find out I suppose.
There is extra triangulation that is hard to see. The engine mounts are tied into the footwell bulkhead. Also is some bolt in bracing that isn't
done yet. It should be stiff enough. I really don't expect to have enough traction to twist things too much.
If I could only get rid of this damned cold I would have the thing ready to go to the welders today . Oh well, one more week.
Cheers.
