oil catch tank made from a kids £2 metal drink bottle & 10mm plumbers fittings & a breather filter that was already fitted .
seems to do the job. Rescued attachment PICT0337.JPG

Looks great but wait for oil to seep out of the rivets...

thought of that . shouldnt be a problem sealed on the inside with j.b weld & preasure tested.

that is brilliant, certainly in the locost spirit somewhat forgotten nowadays...

Are those actually real Meccano parts you have used for the lower mounts?

If so, first time I've seen that

Cheers

pah, you spent how much?

I use a tin for kit kat chunks; ok, spent a bit more maybe since I fitted a drain tap to the base. will also get piccy.

mine is 1 ltr beer can, lighter and cheaper still!

(I do the whole locost thing, despite the impression I can give at times!)

as promised, my oil catch tank.

what makes it superior to the other designs is that there is a domestic radiator drain tap fitted to the bottom (that you can't see) . (and before someone points it out, I know the rivets are potentially leaky but once I see oil coming out of them, it is time to drain!

the insulation tape holding the lid in place is probalby not the best way so if you have a better idea, then let me know.

I welded in a drain in the bottom of mine just need to undo a bolt to drain it.
If the lid doesnt need to come off again araldite it on?.
