I find the 60kg hard to believe, but the idea of a wicker monocoque seems like a good one, especially in a car that wasn't going to go fast to
enough to make rigidity a real issue. They use it for hot air balloon baskets

Anyone care to respond to the point made earlier about wicker moncoques? Seems a shame to miss the chance to talk about alternative materials by
getting the subject smothered in piss-takes

Not convinced that wicker/woven bamboo by itself would be suitable for a monocoque. The nature of it's construction means it has little
rigidity, even though it does have reasonable strength.
As part of a composite material it might work quite well however, just like the Trabants cotton based composite.

But for a small, electric powered vehicle that has no sporting pretensions, I reckon it could work very well.
In fact, a bit of flexing might provide some or all of the required suspension movement?
