v12 ht leads standard or uprated???
smee again
before the beasty went off to paint i fitted a new lumition ignition kit.
it created a missfire dew i was told to the new system being far better and powerfull than the original opus unit.
any way a new set of leads is the order of the day...
what i would like to know is are the bigger ht leads ie 9 or 10mm any better than the standard ones (7mm) or is it just a marketing ploy to get more
cash off us for a gimick.
if they are better where should i spend me money.?????

The original Opus system was pretty good, not sure why you would bin it unless you are going wasted spark coil packs and megajolt.
Never the less, quality leads such as Magnecor are pretty good, for off roading where you get loads of filth and water over everything then 10mm may
score but at the end of the day the spark is trying to jump 1mm, so anything huge is a bit academic in my opinion. Just get a good quality set @
7mm
NB/ I once got a lumition set, the one with small bits of magnet stuck in a ring that you pushed over the cam lobe bit, it misfired as one on the
magnets was not correct so one cylinder was out.

my ignition was faulty,
the engine would start first turn on the key but wouldnt start again after you turned it off. or from warm.
after speaking to some jag specialists they recomended the lumition kit.
i used the new internals in the dizzy 12 spaided rotor wheel and electronic eye pick up, new coil and power amplifier.
it now start first click every time but one of the leads is shorting to ground.
so new ones will ordered when it gets back from the painter.
