New member / future owner
hello everyone!
i am after my first Kitcar due to a change in circumstances, any advice on this decision is welcome!
im 21 and about to go into my final year at university, i work as a swimming coach and am duty manager of the local leisure centre. i comuted into
university from my dads place but i have moved this summer into my place which is much closer to work and uni, i am a keen triathlete so cycle
everywhere and hardly use my current car now. its a black gen 7 celica, worth about 4.4k,
i have always been massivley into kit cars and have decided now is the time to get one! i am after a locost CEC, idealy 2.0, i simply dont have enough
time to build my own at the moment, i spend enough time in the shed putting race bikes back together!
so what do you guys think about my plan of finding a factory built 2.0 cec in black (yes i know color isnt everything but thats what im after! quite
flexible though)
this would have been perfect (i know the car isnt black but the color is awsome!)

cheers for reading!

Welcome to the mad house.
Anyone with plans to own a 7 is sound. Good plan.
Mine is very dark blue, 2.0 CEC and up for sale. Just the job for you (on bike carbs too so quite nippy).
You wont find a locost factory built car, the term is used to describe the cars that people build from scratch from a lump of iron ore 1000 miles
below the surface and then beat into box section with a blow torch and toffee hammer..................
You are probs meaning a factory built kit. Dont rule out the home builds, some of us can build to a high standard, comparable to the factories in many
ways.

Welcome to the forum. Have you ever considered a BEC (Bike Engined Car)? That's 'Motorbike' not 'Pushbike'

cheers for the nice comments guys,
yep i have been looking at the bec's but am yet to be swayed! i pretty good at car mechanics and i took a bike engine apart with a friend at uni
who races 400's, wow they cram a lot of stuff into a small space!! just think the 2.0 pinto or zetec is more for me, but feel free to put
forward an argument...

Not sure where in Herts you are based but this sunday im pretty sure is the local kitcar meet in Baldock, the club is :
www.sg7kitcars.co.uk
Great bunch, normally 1st sunday of month but the couple that run it were on holiday so i think it was moved to this coming sunday, if its localish to
you, its well worth a trip, i will probably be there among the many
Good oportunity to see a few different types of car before you buy, also lotsof free advice too.
Regards Andy

Usually between 12 and 2pm, sometimes a bit later if its a good weather day, its at the George 4th pub on way out of baldock towards Stevenage.
If im there, i will be in a green freelander or possibly with a mate in a white mini clubman.
