Smiths gauge

Evening, I have a Smiths water temperature gauge with the sender attached to the gauge by some insulated cable. I need to buy a hose insert for the sender to screw into but i dont know what type of thread is on the sender as the hose inserts come in 5/8 unf and 1/8 npt. I have emailed Eurospares where i got the gauge from but thought i might get a quicker answer on here.

Also rather than start another topic when i do get the hose insert sorted it says in the instructions the sender should always be submerged in coolant. I have a 06 R1 engine where would be best to place the sender in the top or bottom hose??

Any help is much appriciated Greg

As far as the thread in concerned measure the diameter and invest in a set of thread gauges and a Zues chart . Will last a lifetime and you will never need to guess a thread again

have you also got the voltage regulator? If it the same as the mini item a regulator is needed to drop the voltage
