which one
What would you rather have ?
1) Locost
2) Mk1 Escort
Think about it, think about it again and then do it.

wont stay mint for long!
Id rather have the Mk1, worth a LOT more than the average locost, and I can build a locost more easily than I can rebuild a mk1 to show condition

I have not seen it yet, but its a Mk1 1300e, with a 1.6 ohv fitted and stood for a while under cover but out side no glass fitted.
I might have a look at it.

Locost
especially when you take into account the silly prices that classic Fords go for!! For a poverty spec Ford you could get a tasty locost!!

For the silly money it will cost you to do up the Escort, it would have to be the Locost...

Depends if the question was which one you would buy if you you had the money, or which one you would take for nothing if offered both!

Spoke to the guy and he is keeping it for spares, so keeping my locost.
He did say it has been standing for about 12 years with no windows and bits from the engine stripped, would need more welding than you could shake a
stick at.
Makes you wonder what spares he could use from it.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Had three Mk1s before getting a Westfield to rebuild, downside was too much welding of rusty steel, but I'd rather have one. Became too
expensive though.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!

I can't believe the sentiment out there for the Mk 1 Escort....it was crap!!!
It was a mass produced heap of poo which I, for one, will not miss. OK it did ok in motorsport, but those cars bear little resemblance under the skin
to a standard car. Parts for the damned things (especially bodywork) are astronomical.
Give me a Locost anyday!!

Because kits are for girls!!
