hmm, well its got number plates on it, but he knows its got to go to IVA (he says mot) he's presuming it would get a age plate.

a few things wrong, but nothing hugely wrong to be fair. though he shouldn't have put the old chassis number on yet

Is it the fact it has the chassis tag number fitted from the donor?
i think the no plates are just for show with it saying it needs a SVA

am sure that you have to arrange for a guy from dvla to come round and check the car at rolling stage and then he gives you a VIN number.

nope, don't think so. you do have to get an inspection after iva though. but you usually have to take it to the DVLA office. i think home visits are pretty rare now

You go to the local DVLA office and speak to the nice man telling him what you are doing.
He gets a book out and takes details off you name address ect.....then he gives you a number to stamp on your chassis. Some offices will take your own made up number and some insist they give you a number.

You can also register VIN numbers on off road bikes and cars so if they are stolen they can be identified

That sounds like bull!
Wherever they go they need to satisfy the visibility requirements in both cases

There used to be relaxed rules for seven type cars at SVA because the side of the car is not the outermost part of the vehicle. This may carry over to amateur built vehicles under IVA but knowing the testers they may ask for factory compliant standards.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
