I almost started a new topic here but, accordingly to what I wrote before, I did not.
It seems there are two "sevenesque" trends:
1. One which follows the general design guidelines innovated by Colin with the 7;
2. The other which catches the spirit (a 4-wheel bike) but differs in the concept, as Alan B with his Meerkat.
Are both "Locost" cars? I Think the issue here is the concept, ie, building oneselves (definetly) a 2-seater (absolutly) sports car using "cheap" donor parts.
I have long dreamed myself of building a kind of "road going formula car" (and I have not dropped out the idea yet) but, for the moment being, I think I'll go for the "rough" behaviour of a 7-like "Locost".
Alan B.(USA), Dominic (AUS) and Les (Portugal) are planning mid-engined "Locost" cars; good, I'll support (if of any use) and help (if I can) as I may.
So, go for it.
