When I bought the car there was only one key for the filler cap I have tried to get one cut locally but no joy,the aero filler is made by Newton and
sold/badged up as caterham, newton don't want to know and caterham want £18 +vat + postage for a bloody key! Just wondered if anyone else had any
options for me

When you say "localy" have you just tried key cutters or a proper locksmith? The specialist locksmith near me has never failed to come up
with a key, even when we haven't had an original.

Old topic I know but I only have one key and if you want spares they are about £20 a pair from Newton.
Has anyone ever successfully got them copied at a locksmith?
Do they have the blanks?

Bit of a update,I tried my local locksmiths & all said they could not copy them, but I did find one who ordered some blanks in for me,cost me £3 so
glad I waited & shopped around.

i found Newton really helpful. When i tried to get keys cut for mine the local locksmith found the waffers in the barrel were damaged. A call to
Newton and £ 24 got me a new barrel and pair of keys in the post. Good service and a lot cheaper than a new filler cap assembly.
