Just over 2500. I use it to commute in the summer, 3 trackdays with one more to come in November and I tend to find any excuse to use it if the
weather is good. Can't bear to think of it gathering dust all alone in the garage over the winter so I will be spending time with it taking it
apart and putting it back together again and putting a new engine in until the summer!

It would be good if people (especially the built it/bought it and now sold it guys) could work out their gains/losses from a financial
standpoint per mile and per month/year etc. It really might show a trend in built versus bought, in CEC versus BEC etc etc etc.
It may prove to be a valuable referring tool when new builders or maybe more specifically, new members join and ask a lot of cost questions as most
seem to do.
That way people could have a more accurate way of working out what their costs would be. (As opposed to just working out what they can afford in the
initial outlay)
I for one would have made a different choice if I had known that choice A would cost me XXX, and lose YYY 18 months later when I sold it etc.
I spent roughly £9,800 to put my first KC on the road, spent about another £700 on it in improvements, did roughly 8000 miles in it and sold it for
£8,500.
Cost per mile for me was £0.25p per mile. (assuming my maths is correct, if I am wrong then please say so, and I will change
it)
I'm obviously not counting fuel, insurance, tax, (2) track days, and (1) 6hr endurance race.

Just under 2000 miles for me,two trips to Belgium, One to france, much better roads over there.
Still taxed mot'd and insured so not finished yet.

'Used up' first engine may 3rd 2011!
Back on the road with 2nd engine may 24th
First PASA mad drive 26/7/11
Sold to Mike in Methyr Tydvil 19/03/14

5600Miles since March. Including 18 Sprints, 2 Spa trackdays, 6 UK trackdays & 2 road book rallies on France. Still got 2 trackdays left this
year.

Well thats it for another 6 months [SORN'ed]
But today Andy W and i had a good ride out up to Bogg Brothers and round and about it has put a few more miles on the mileometer and it now says just
over 500 miles so i must have been wrong with 300 in my first post
Well its all wrapped up know for winter except a few jobs to do
Back on the road on May 1st 2012
unless i sell it over winter

I use it for commuting & even give my workmate a lift! its done just over 3500 miles in 6 months. The only problems i have had is a blocked filter
on the fuel pump.

Quality, not quantity?
Getting some strange vibes from some of the replies in this thread.
These cars / projects are what you make of them....big boys toys, works of art, a pastime, a calling even? They are as individual as you are - they
are - dare I say it - an extension of you and your abilities.
Above all, they are a superbly enjoyable hobby - whether you are building, modifying or just plain 'using' them.
...........................and you don't measure enjoyment by the number of miles you have completed.....
Yes - if you count the cost against 'miles covered' - maybe you have a point, Jacko - but that is all it is - one point of view - for my
part, It is certainly one the most enjoyable and rewarding things I have done in my entire life - and I'm getting on a bit!

There seems to be a lot of talk about selling up this year.If this carries on i will be left
on my own up here.
I did about 800 miles this year,i have done 3000 total since sva in 2007.
I cant wait for april next year to get it out again.

Not worth adding up, but really one should count tools etc, because without the project, I wouldn't have bought them. It's just so much
money for a few hours enjoyment so far. Provincial safety inspection booked this Tuesday though, then off to the insurance people. I have about a week
until the snow hits. Have my official, government approved VIN and evaluation (under 2/3 of what I have paid into the thing, NOT counting tools etc).
It's a commitment of ... I don't know what it is, but I'm not sure I'd be any more productive doing something else. I think
most of us are in for the distraction of it all, to avoid thinking about work etc. That, and looking out into the garage and sighing. Or maybe
I've just inhaled too many toxic chemicals during the project.
