Kits in Portugal

Hi

is anyone building a locost or kit in Portugal?

I'm looking at buying somewhere over there in the next year or two but the down side seems to be horrific car prices and taxation on anything worth driving. Building cars there looks to be a nightmare from what I've gleaned from the interweb but is there anybody out there with any experience of this?

I don't want to have to give up my toys and as everything I drive was either built or modified by myself I am worried that I'll have to give it all up and buy something like an M3 and pay mega tax on it just to be able to drive something fun in Portugal.

I have found one kit car manufacturer over there and I'll find out more when I go over later this year but some inside information from anyone already there would help no end!

Cheers Si.

There was a Formula27 race series some years ago in Portugal.
Might be worth seeing if you can track one of those down?
