Oh my god that caterham's amazing!!!
Hi Guys,
Just thought i'd share my experience last night with you!
My mate has just bought himself a 54 plate caterham with a 1.8 k-series engine.
Think the spec is 480kg with around 200hp.
Anyway, i've been in a couple of kit cars but never really been for an encouraged spin in one. This all changed last night! Henry is one of my
old driving buddies so we're very used to going hooning around so he decided to come and pick me up from work last night. We then met up with
our friend with a tuned series 1 elise.
We started at 5pm and fininshed at 10:30pm.
What can i say!!! The car is INCREDIBLE!!!! It feels just like my car does (although i haven't driven mine properly or very far), and i was so
impressed with the feel of the car. It's just like a go-kart, you can feel every little input of the steering wheel and every tiny bump on the
road. I've never felt so much confidence in any car to be able to get round a corner! And on that note, my god i don't think
there's a corner it can't do at any speed!
The actual speed itself, although being clearly bloody fast, is just not even the point!
It's just the feel of the car, even though i wasn't driving, you just feel so in tune with it!
Anyway, absolutely bloody loved it!!! It's definitely given me another good drive towards getting my car done, i'm so desperate to get
mine finished now and experience it for myself!!!!
I LOVE KIT CARS!!!!
Andy

So I aM happy to have a striker with the same spec engine in and yes went out am today and feels rapid, not as quick as the tribe cars but exploitable
power, striker felt vey nimble, my brothers cater ham is a 230 bhp monster and I know what you mean they feel a very sorted car, and almost a bit too
much power if I dare say that with 230 plus,
Nice looking cars there sounds like you had a blast,
Keep going on that build, you won't regret it

Is it really 480 kg? (Serious question, I would be interested to know the true weight).

Strikers are meant to be very small too, and also light, but I have in my head that mine wieghs approx 600KG with a 4age and no screen. Any one wnat
to guess how much my car actually weighs?
Your car will feel like that when done. I swear my car can rip my face off around a round-a-bout!!
Get building, then you can become part of the yellow car cru with your mates!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
