MR2 based kit

Does anyone do a mk1 MR2 based sports-car kit? Something a bit more sensible than the Furore?

Not that I've seen (though I didn't hunt specifically). It seems to be the first suggestion when looking at mid-rear designs but few seem to go forward with it. If you're looking at the Mk2 MR2 then the engine/box combo isn't particularly light (especially the turbo version). (175kg for engine alone IIRC).

I have already have the car which is a Mk1 (4age). It's mechanically very good but rough round the edges, I was just thinking if there was anything else more interesting I could do with it before I spend money on the bodywork.

Now THAT is exactly what I'm after!

However I don't really want to make my own chassis as I don't have the space at the moment.

La Bala Kits

Hi Phelpsa,

Just to help out regarding info for the La Bala if you didn't get it from the website already.

The LB1 was the original scratch build midi engined kit car, built from our chassis plans which uses the running gear of the MR2 Mk1.
The LB2 comes as a complete chassis and has evolved hugely since the LB1, including the update of the running gear to MR2 MK2

Hope this information helps, if you have an more questions drop me a line.

Regards

Chris
