Insurance whilst storing BEC

Evening all,

Im currently renting a garage whilst moving house just to store the BEC for a few weeks. What would you recommend insurance wise as its not a fully finished car. Can I take out insurance as a ''build project'' and give it a estimated value?

Any advice appreciated, Cheers.

Iirc you can insure an unfinished car if it has a VIN, otherwise it's a pile of steel, tyres and engine.

The insurance section might be of more help, I'm sure this has been asked a few times

I'd be interested to know what you find, I've often wondered whether the 'pile of steel, tyres and an engine' (good description! ) could be covered under a normal house contents policy, perhaps with an agreed value?

Laid up insurance is what you need, but you need a chassis number. I went with footman james £75 and I'm pleased I did as I need to claim.

Great ! Got a quote of £53.53, just waiting for my VIN number allocation.

Cheers

You can get build insurance through Adrian Flux without a VIN number, mine is about £75 a year for £9000 worth of parts all they needed was an engine number.
