Welcome, I think a volvo donor has been suggested before, try doing a search. I think that it was a 440 rear IRS axle sugested.

well , its either turbo or NA , i can do both with MS , my road car (740 turbo ) has around 220 hp at the flywheel for a std motor so , i know i can do more - the M46 gearbox is the weak link - about 250 ft/lbs torque will kill it - need to use an M90 , the later box or a getrag/T5

Of course if im silly ill just chuck a T5 motor in there . The IRS is from a 760 - the 440 are fwd so not much use there , alltho i could use a 3 series donor with box at the back , but i have same issues with torque capability for box , of course a lighter car will make the box survive longer since it wont be loaded up so much .
