Dint know where to put this...........

But i read the odd post where people seem to be struggling to find doner cars or bike engines at decent money,

R girt is watching telly so i took a peek in this weeks add mag, full of sierras from £40 advertised as "runner or spares" cortina £75, there out there.........

Bike breakers at Ripley, honda Blackbird on carbs £995, injection £1195, CBR 1000 £300, they have around 30 engines in there add, prob more in stock,

there dont see the point of the post now, twas just thinking out loud i guess.

Happy building,

Your right mate they are out there, even the cortinas.I Think some people are just plain lazy and want all the bits to fall at there feet, like chrisg and women it just aint gonna happen.
I found it half the fun going out and having a good rummage about looking for bits

My appologies to chrisg for the comment but at least he has come in handy as a comparison

A quick search on ebay reveals about 20 sierras for <£50. Probably half of them suitable for donors.

The furtherest North breaker of any size is Breaking Point in Aberdeen. The lads want £999 for most of the superbike engines that we use. The lads have pretty much everything you could want. dek@breakingpoint.co.uk

Further South is Colin AKA Colibriman who does them for 750 upwards.

As for donars the markets are still seeing ford sierras for fifty quid up at Perth and Kinross. We have a local sellers paper that has stacks of donors but the mk1 and mk 2 for fifty quid has become 800 quid! even for rust buckets......seems we pruned that car to the edge of extinction. The ford scrappy at Errol has pretty much whats left with prices to match . So that how it stands in the real north.

I bought my donor from eBay for £45 and I didn't even win the auction. As for bike engines, I saw one once, but couln't afford to buy one.
