Sorry folks only just joined forum...

I have been told it's a locost 7 I have viewed car but to be fair I didn't care what it was I fell in love.

The chap says it's got Sierra front hubs, live rear axle? 1300 crossflow (doesn't take throttle)

Ok, so thought a good start would be to put my baby in for a mot to get a starting point.....

FAIL..... Altough for not being on the road since 2009 a very good fail!!

1 - Front brakes seized on solid, strip/free off calipers(Cortina)
2 - Headlight aim to low (They will adjust on re test)
3 - top bush on front shocks slipped off (put shock back on bush weld washer either side)

All in all very happy.

To do list- Fix temp gauge as not working?
Fix rev counter
Fix speedo
Wire in fan
Replace old fuel pipe
Get carb set up

Any advise on the to do list welcome ie carb set up

Almost forgot... Reg as a T & J Locost Model Sports

T & J made a car called the "Locust" (note the 'u' ) rather than the Locost. It's still a 7-style car, but uses a ladder chassis rather than a tubular space frame, and the straight panels on the body are made from plywood, usually 'skinned' with aluminum. Most of the drivetrain is very similar to the original Locost though, so you should find plenty of help on here for that.

There is also a Locust Enthusiasts Club that may be useful for some of the more different aspects.

Which carburettor do you have on your crossflow? The standard 1300 comes with a single choke Ford carb, but the performance variants used a dual choke Weber. It's worth keeping an eye out for an old Haynes manual for the Mk1/Mk2 Escorts on eBay etc. as they will cover all the drivetrain maintenance and repair procedures you are likely to need for your car.
