I used to work for part of BT that looked after the transmission lines for the BBC - we used to have a monitor like that to keep an eye on things, and
the picture was amazing. Even things like the phosphor dots in the screen were much smaller; if you stood back a very short distance you
couldn't see them at all. However, it was far too big for domestic use, and far too delicate (it was built for moving around, but there was
always a risk of losing its carefully set adjustments if we were clumsy with it). It was also very heavy!
