Paint protection film

Hi guys,

So having done the whole diy rattle can painting a few times, I've never found the lacquer part worked as well as I wanted...
I've been with some friends on the weekend who had the paint protection film stuff over key parts of their lotus' and although they are obviously painted properly in the first place, it got me wondering whether this could be an alternative option instead of lacquer on the kit....

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Andy

thin spray coats applied over a few hours are best

cheers steve,

are you sanding between coats with this stuff and does it end up an equivalent standard to OEM lacquer?

I only give it a slight sand with 1000/1200 paper, more to take the bumps off,
all of the inside of the doors on my cat c mondeo were done with it, looks oem to me
