It runs!!!!

This might be one of the longest ever builds...over 3 1/2 years...but at last I've fired up the engine. Runs a treat - was ticking over smoothly at 600rpm but I've upped it a bit to 800rpm. Haven't had it out on the road or track yet, but it takes off like a rocket on our close.

Web update and pics at:-

Please note new address if you have any links to my site.

What's next? I've filled in the SVA form and sent it off, I'm covering the sharp edges and putting a large diameter padded edge on the bottom of the dash. My main problem is the speedo - I have a VDO from a Caterham but I would think the gearing will be all wrong for my 3.92 diff, 6x22 worm and gear in the gearbox and 13" rims with 185x60/13 tyres. Anyone know how to work all this out?

Cheers,

Eddy

Great feeling isn't it

Hoping it's going to be like a fine wine getting better with time

Looking good Eddy.

We are 3 yrs & 4 months into the build but getting close to being ready for SVA now. As Eddy the engine is as removed from the donor, just cleaned and painted. Turned it over 2 wks ago to check compression and everything looks OK, should be starting it up in a couple of weeks from now. Definitely looking forward to the first drive even though it will be very short up the drive and back, round trip of about 100 ft !!!

Nice one Eddy!
As you know I've been watching your build closely as we both started out at about the same time on very similar lines .

All the best, DEAN.

Once I've finished a project why do I start another?
