Quarter mile times
Hi,
Has anyone done any timed quarter miles in their kit cars?
If so details of engine used and weight of car would be appriciated.
Thanks,
Miles

Most would have done 0-60 rather than 1/4 mile
Mine was 6.5 secs in an Indy with std 2litre pinto

I prefer York Raceway to elvington. Its a lot cheeper too.
Saying that I may go to 10 of the best. Looks like you compete in teams, how about an MK or locost team???? That would be awesom!

Hi indykid,
Yes it is York Raceway.
http://www.york-raceway.co.uk/events.html
Its usually £20 for a days running and £10 entry.
I normally get about 15 runs but if you try hard you could do over 20.

Carnut, the blackbird is a bike engine right? Any idea on power or weight?
What have you done to hopefully lower your times?
Run what you brung at Santa Pod is £10 to get in, then £15 for unlimited runs, which could be any amount from 7 or 8 to 25, depending on how busy it
is.
Cheers
Miles

I've been to pod for the Performance Vauxhall show and non Vauxhall's have run, so I assume its the same at the VW show?
Although for 1/4 runs going on a RWYB weekend is much cheaper and you'll get more runs in.

Miles,
yes blackbird is a bike engine. Mine produces about 170hp @ crank but this weekend i'll be running with an extra 40hp and ive stripped out some
weight and ready for it.
In SVA/Road trim it weighs about 400kg
