Had car set up today by Peter Baldwin at Wilshers garage Wimpole near Cambridge . Tel 01223 207217 Just a bog standard 1600 cross flow with Valencia distributor, twin choke weber and Locost exhaust , Thought car went pretty well before but he managed to find best part of 10.BHP Very helpful and friendly guy , well impressed May need a rev limiter now though.

No points in a Valencia distributor , it was fitted as a locost way of installing electronic ignition ie no cost , so no points to bounce . Started with 85bhp and ended up with 96 . As already stated engine is bog standard apart from carb , exhaust and distributor , Cost was £93 inc vat which works out at around £9 per hp . No really magor changes just setting things up properly . Now totally different to drive especially at top end of revs ,loads more power. Goes to show you dont have to spend a fortune on getting reasonable performence.

Exhaust was from lolocost , carb is 38dgav? paid £75.00 for the engine from a mate who reckoned it was a good one , can't complain much at that price
